Historically, the conception of the idea to start the now KegitesÕ Club International (initially known as "Palmwine Drinkers klub") started at a palm wine drinking shop/ÔjointÕ at the then University College (now University of Ibadan (UNIBADAN)). However, the particular spot where the shop was constructed is located in the region given out by the University first as the temporary site for the University of Ife (UNIFE (now Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)), Ile Ife and later, to establish the Polytechnic, Ibadan.
