Swell Surf and Lifestyle Hotel is a small hotel project in El Paredon, Guatemala. Designed by Elan Ibghy, in collaboration with Marie Bonnefond, the project seeks to combine traditional local construction methods with a contemporary architectural sensibility.
This piece explores the process of settling in a remote village in Guatemala, joining the local community, and working in the vernacular construction landscape to build a uniquely local place.
