An ambitious work following four artists, each in the throes of their own project--a writer, a painter, a musician, an actress--while at the same time struggling with the realization of their own fictional existence. It is the story of itself in layered experiences, a fable of creative process--exploring the dimensions of the text and the fundamental questions surrounding all that we know to be real.
Ranging from the grand and epic, to the intimate and deeply personal, the novel is intended to be a unique and active experience, pulling the reader into a constructive, emotional, and imaginative project all their own. Syzygy, is intended to redefine the space and possibilities of the book as socio-cultural object, arguing for its own autonomy as every person argues for their own individuality; yearning for semblance as each person yearns for love: it is the story of its own conception, dealing with that (un)reality, and figuring out how to move forward, in an effort to create something new.
