This collection of poems represents the end of one phase of life and the promise of the next phase based on the fruits of the past. The first half is devoted to the 200 that descended from the stars to land on Earth at Mount Hermon, the 20 leaders among them known as the Grigori or Watchers, the ten under each of them and the nations under them that spread over the world. The second half is devoted to the Queen of Sard, an avatar of the divine feminine linked to the sea, weather, the Moon and theft; the Queen of Sard is the Genius Loci, the spirit of the place, the embodiment of the City of Bones. The City of Bones is a semi-mythic place that is also a state of the mind and soul that exists suspended between the last breath of one life and the first of the next, or between 3:00 AM and the moment before dawn comes to burn away the night. It should be noted that Mahaziel means ÒGod of the blackening and consuming flameÓ; this name represents divinity as expressed in the ruthlessness of nature.
