In the North-West of Scotland there is a group of islands, the Hebrides, where many people live. They travel between the islands on ferries! These great ships, both large and small, sail all around the islands, transporting people and cargo, connecting up the mainland to the islands. Together, the ferries form a team called the Alba Fleet. The fleet sail in all seasons. They sail alongside dolphins, whales and seals. They deliver all sorts of important items and unite friends and families. This is one story from the tales of the Alba Fleet.
Tales of the Alba Fleet was created by father and son, John and David Sturrock, whose love for the Scottish islands, and the ferries that sail among them, inspired this story. The book is illustrated by Hamish Muir.
