When Tangerine, the young tomcat, known as Tanger to his friends, decides he wants to explore the world outside his barn, his bright crow friend, Esme, tells him of a wonderful field with butterflies to play with, grass to roll in and things to sniff. Tanger is so excited, he is certain that he can take on the world no problem! After all, he is the quickest, sneakiest and bravest cat around! But little does he know, that beyond the barn there are mean animals and even meaner humans that would scare even the bravest little cat.
Tanger is tested when things start to go wrong on his adventure. A scary encounter with a monster in the field leads Tanger to be separated from his friend Esme, and soon Tanger is lost. A storm soaks him to the skin, and when he meets some farm animals, he learns the truth about the monster in the field. However, when he asks for the animals help, Tanger is turned away. Miserable and defeated, Tanger is certain his adventure is ruined, until an unexpected kindness from a new friend makes him realize that first impressions arenÕt always correct, and that sometimes being kind is the brave thing to do. Tanger must have the courage to be kind, and help save his new friend, before it is too late.
