This book is about the early years of Tanjong Lobang School / College, which is situated at the top of a promontory in Miri Sarawak overlooking the South China Sea. The institution holds fond memories for its students and teachers. Some 50 years later, some of them have come together to tell the stories about how it has made a great difference to their lives, enabling them in turn to have contributed to the wellbeing of their people and the making of the nation. They record in this book their gratitude to the institution and its people, their love for them and their friendship that has endured over the decades. Reading this book will also give you a glimpse of how life in Sarawak was 50 years ago and how difficult and yet important it was to offer the young urchins a chance for an education.
