This delightful alphabet book is the result of a joyful collaboration between Charles Wright AcademyÕs Class of 2035 and the 2025 Upper School Painting and Drawing class. Our second graders became playful poets, each choosing a letter of the alphabet and crafting whimsical, alliterative lines like ÒMagnificent monkeys making musicÓ or ÒSilly snakes slithering silently.Ó It was a celebration of language, creativity, and imagination, as students explored sound, rhythm, and descriptive writing.
To bring these poems to life, the Upper School artists took on the role of illustrators, treating the second graders as their "clients." After reviewing the poems, they brainstormed compositions, sketched ideas, and thoughtfully chose color palettes before creating vivid gouache paintings that reflect the spirit of each poem.
