"The Amazing World of Geology" is a collection of poems, short stories, and ÒinterviewsÓ with scientist written by students at The Young Women's Leadership School of Brooklyn. Each piece shows their expertise on the topic and should teach you about geology in creative ways. YouÕll read plays using personification, with earthquake waves as characters, that teaches us which types of waves travel through EarthÕs interior. You will playfully answer the Seismic Love quiz to teach us the similarities between types of relationships and seismic waves. You will journey on a ÒCrazy Field tripÓ that reminds us of the The Magic School Bus. You will learn why we can only find fossils in sedimentary rocks. Through haiku inspired poems, metaphorical devices, and imagery you will learn geology from the class experts. We hope you enjoy and feel inspired to use your imagination.
