In 1933, California pioneer gas engine inventor, Charles A. Winslow, introduced in the middle of AmericaÕs great depression, a simple, reliable and economical diesel engine using but a single valve per cylinder. Initial deliveries of the American Diesel Engine CompanyÕs Monovalve Engine proved to be all that the manufactured claimed, with engines placed in boats, trucks and as stationary engines.
