The artist and writer Harry Turner took an active interest in paradoxical figures in the 1970s. Four decades of work have been distilled into two volumes. The first takes the story from the beginning, via the artistÕs observations on the technical side of creating Triad impossible objects, to a selection of paradoxical patterns created from them.
Part 2 moves from Visual Fictions based on Triad designs to more material from the artistÕs notes and drawings and then to a catalogue of practical applications for Triads and the Triad designs which appeared in a wide range of publications.
Both volumes contain an encyclopaedic range of images created by the artist, and his own written observations on how he came to create them.
