The Book of AlzheimerÕs is a resource guide for congregations serving African Americans who desire to help families and individuals cope with AlzheimerÕs. According to the AlzheimerÕs Association, African Americans are two to three times more likely than whites to develop dementia. More than 5 million people in the United States have AlzheimerÕs and this number is expected to double by the year 2030. It is now estimated that one out of every nine persons over the age of 65 is living with AlzheimerÕs. The Book of AlzheimerÕs is a road map for providing compassionate support to persons living with AlzheimerÕs and their caregivers.
