This text, known as "Kitab al-Haft wa 'l-Adhillah," or "Kitab al-Haft al-Sharif" (the Book of Heptads and Shadows), represents a preserved record of second century (A.H.) beliefs associated with the Kufan ghulat of that period. It is purported to be a record of questions and answers that occurred during secretive meetings between Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (a.s.) and his disciple, Mufaddal ibn `Umar al-Ju`fi (q.s.).
