[Based on a true story]
This book is based on my travels to Ethiopia, to the village of Lalibela, where I met a young boy priest named Habte. His family was caught in a war between Ethiopia and the neighboring country of Eritrea. Habte's mom was from Eritrea, and Habte and his family was afraid that the Ethiopian government would deport her back to the land of her birth. Habte's only hope was that the priests of Lalibela could find a way to save her, or so he thought.
