After being released from his bottle by Harold Ventimore, the genie, Fakrash, commits himself to improve his new master's life. The only problem is that instead of helping Harold, Fakrash tends to get his master into more predicaments than he gets him out of.
Harold is a rather unsuccessful architect trying to get a new housing development going but has troubles keeping both his boss and girlfriend happy.
This book, published originally in 1900 was turned into a very good movie starring Tony Randall, Burl Ives, and Barbara Eden, and NO. She was not the genie! That honor went to Burl Ives. Barbara is the girlfriend.
The book was also turned into a stage play in England in 1911.
