Scott Vascik is a board-certified pediatrician. ÊHe grew up northeast of Pittsburgh. ÊHe graduated from the West Virginia School of Medicine and completed his pediatric training at Geisinger Janet Weis ChildrenÕs Hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania. ÊHe chose to be a pediatrician because it was a field of medicine that wouldnÕt force him to finally grow up.
Scott wants to continue to write childrenÕs books to further his mission as a pediatricianÑto serve patients and empower parents. ÊHe knows reading to kids at an early age is a great way for families to bond and to expand the mind. ÊHe believes reading to kids should be an active process; ask what your child sees in the pictures and what he or she thinks of the ideas presented. ÊChildren are first taught to learn to read, but the ultimate goal is to read to learn. Ê Ê

Scott and his wife Ashley have a passion for education and would like to see all kids realize and achieve their dreams. ÊThey have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by people that have encouraged lifelong learning, the pursuit of personal growth and stressed the importance of chasing big, big dreams. ÊThey want the same for all of their kids.
