The Contagious Poets and Me

A new immigrant there I wandered, curious -
in the Land of Blogging, a poet, I found -
and yet more, Ôtil -
a community of poets!

On daily reading them, -
I took to leaving comments -
some flowing out as poems -
like a message in a bottle on the waves -
or greeting card in the mail slot -
sprayed graffiti on a wall -
--
ÔTil one poet replied; This is poetry!
worthy to stand in their own right to -
become a book -
--
IÕd never imagined as separate art -
but with that friendly guide and goad -
I gathered them, stumbled, learned -
now in your hands you hold that book -
because poets are a contagious tribe
