In 2007, Virgil Patlan, the police officer
who had previously arrested me, came to visit.
I was working the welcome center at the
YMCA. As he handed me an envelope he said,

want you to have this for the Victory Boxing
Club.Ó I started to open it but he said, ÒNot

hardly believe my eyes when I opened the
envelope to find a $2500 check. I held back
