This is a collection of recipes that has been amassing on my computer and as jottings in my kitchen ever since the publication of 'The Curious Cook's Book' in 2011. Now completely unmanageable it was time to turn these into a book. I hope you will cook these recipes with confidence and enjoyment. Cooking is an art but not an art form - you won't be creating any of those artworks you see on Masterchef. I was glad to hear Michel Roux jnr say that when people go into a restaurant they want a plate of food that satisfies the stomachn not a piece of food art they could hang on a wall. I couldn't agree more!
