Juniper's life is simple and routine. She could always see the pathway in front of her clearly. If only the one behind her was just as clear... She can't remember her parents, and some parts of her early life, and neither can her twin brother, Sabir.
One day, there is a fire, and Juniper is forced to leave her home, and everything she has ever known. Very few others make it out. With their home gone, the survivors make plans to relocate. The pathway to their new home is long, unfamiliar, and scary. Along the way, they begin to uncover something ancient and magical.
Suddenly, Juniper starts to remember bits and pieces of her past, but what do they have to do with the strange things she's discovering?
