The Elisha Stewart Line is a family record concerning the descendants of Elisha Stewart (1847 - 1903) of Humphreys County, Tennessee. His children include Dolford, Dollie, and Lizzie Stewart by Elisha's first marriage to Lucinda Dickerson. He married third to maiden Celia Lincoln and had Henry Hartful "H.H." Stewart. Dolford and H. H. Stewart remained in the Humphreys-Hickman-Dickson County area. Dollie married Tarleton Gano Taylor and removed westward to Texas. Lizzie married Jesse Rufin Owens and removed to Nashville, Tennessee.

Elisha Stewart is the great-grandson of William Stewart Sr. (1756 -1833) of the American Revolution. He was one of Daniel Morgan's riflemen and an early pioneer of Tennessee. He first removed to Hickman County but later removed to Madison County where his son, Bart Stewart, had established himself substantially.

The Elisha Stewart descendants are numerous and have settled all over the country. This is their genealogical record.
