This booklet contains twelve posts from the first six years of "The French Genealogy Blog" describing visits to various Departmental Archives around France. It follows on our first publication "French Genealogy From Afar" , which explains the basics of French genealogy, including a thorough explanation of Departmental Archives, and without which this booklet may seem a bit confusing. Further, the description of our visit to the Departmental Archives of Paris is not included here but is to be found in the booklet on Parisian Genealogy. It is our most sincere wish that you, Dear Reader, would find it of use in your preparation and planning of your own visits to France's archives.
