This is the sixth edition of a book I published to advance reconciliation in my beloved USA. Following the election of November 2016, I began writing "post-election poems" to sort my feelings and clarify my resolve about what it now means to be a citizen. With these poems, to quote the writer Dennis Lee, I seek to consider ways to "live as if in the first days of a better nation." For all of us, writing may be a way to clarify our thoughts as a preparation for effective action in restoring our national and international community.
