Michael Mogilevsky was born in Java in 1929. In 1931, the family moved to Japan. MichaelÕs parents were Russian natives, but traveled the world as classical musicians. Michael was considered Ògaijin,Ó (pronounced Guy-Jin) which literally means Òoutside personÓ in Japanese. He grew up and lived in Japan until 1950. When World War II began, Michael was just a young boy.
