DR. OCCULT is in many ways the epitome of comic history. He was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe
Shuster (under the pen names Leger and Reuths), three years before they brought us Superman.
DR. OCCULT is also claimed by many to be the first costumed hero in the Golden Age of Comics.
And to top it off, since he is still used as a character today, he is one of the longest running
character concepts in comics, with a history that stretches back well over 83 years! This book
includes his appearance in The Comics Magazine #1 (as Dr. Mystic)!
For reasons we may never know, National Periodical Publications failed to renew the copyrights of
the first few dozen issues of New Fun /More Fun Comics. While good quality copies of this iconic
