With her Tokyo nightspot on the verge of collapse due to Japan's economic plight, a misdirected telephone call sparks a scheme which Mamasan thinks will enrich her failing business. It enriches, but in ways she couldn't have imagined. She suddenly meets real people with real problems at a suicidal level: the reclusive bank manager who attempts suffocation in his own vault; the golfaholic who tries to end it all in the club lake; the sexually harassed office lady who thinks she's hired a hit man, and the old Kamikaze pilot who paraglides into a last ocean plunge, but hits an American destroyer - a few of the characters who make up the founder members of The Golden Shore
Throughout it all, her faithful old barman Kenji bumbles along with his own laughable efforts to help propel Mama's project into success.
