1n 2012 it was the enthusiasm of Dr Erica Brown that drew a disparate collection of academics, enthusiasts and the curious together to read popular novels of the early twentieth century.
Ten years later, the Sheffield Hallam Popular Fiction Reading Group 1900-1950 is still thriving; this collection of reviews gives a glimpse of the sort of books they tell each other about at their monthly meetings- some wonderful, some terrible, and some very strange indeed.
