THE GREAT NICOLA (William Nicol, 1880-1946) gained fame around the world for nearly 50 years. His lavish magic show, consisting of up to 50 tons of equipment, made four world tours between 1910-1939, to the far reaches of China, India, Africa, Australia, South America, the U.S. and everywhere in-between. It was a stage spectacle unrivaled in its time. Through fires, earthquakes, world wars and a sinking ship that finally took his show to the bottom of Singapore Harbor, the journey of The Great Nicola is unlike any other.
