This book details the earliest documented origins and builds the family tree of the Merckel/Merkel families in the Palatine town of Ha§loch beginning in the middle of the 17th Century.
Thanks to the recent availability of the Civil Court records of Ha§loch from the 16th to the 18th Century and the German publication of the Family Book of Ha§loch covering this period, significant progress had been made on development of this family tree.
The surviving family of a single Merckel immigrant from Ha§loch to Ulster Co, New York Province around 1709, along with a second family grown in Ulster Co from 1711 to 1730, has produced thousands of Merkel, Markle, Maricle, Mericle, Miracle, Myracle, etc families spread across most of the United States and parts of Canada.
