The Harlem Edge|Cultivating Connections Publication presents entries to the latest design ideas competition developed by the AIANY Emerging New York Architects (ENYA) committee. Following previous waterfront sites that included Groen Hoek, Southpoint on Roosevelt Island, the South Street Seaport and the High Bridge Crossing of the Harlem River, the 2012 competition focuses on the redevelopment of New York City's West 135th Street marine transfer station. The competition's dual component program aimed to reconnect public users with the waterfront via a multimodal transit hub while providing Nourishing USA, a local nonprofit which advocates healthy living through nutritional programming, with operational space. The 24 competition entries presented herein include the winning entries and a representational cross section of those presenting innovative ideas.
