This is the personal account of RSM Charles Hazlehurst of the North Staffordshire Regiment describing his experiences in the 2nd Boer War, service in India and the trenches of Flanders. This hitherto unpublished account has been compiled from his notes and other research providing background details. Included are descriptions of the war in South Africa including arrival and in action, Ypres, Hill 60 and two escapes from a Prisoner of War Camp.
Also included are tales of his brothers including the story of John who was wounded at Gallipoli.
