We are celebrating the 125th anniversary of the birth of J.L. Moreno, father of psychodrama, sociometry and group psychotherapy, born in 1889, the 40th anniversary of his death in 1974, and the 50th anniversary of the First International Congress of Psychodrama, held in Paris in 1964. This book attempts to capture some of the key moments of J.L. MorenoÕs life, work and legacy, offering a pictorial narrative intertwined with reminiscences from his family members, students, contemporaries and colleagues, reflecting on their personal experiences of him and the significance of his pioneering contributions. The photos span from the culturally and politically effervescent early 20th century Vienna, through the mid-century consolidation of psychodrama, to its globalisation in the late 20th century, with MorenoÕs action methods having spread world-wide, partly through his and ZerkaÕs travels, and partly through the conscious efforts of his contemporaries to spread the 'words of the father'.
