In lacrosse games I was nervous,
when the first quarter came I felt hot
even when I did well in the warm ups.
Even when I had memorized the moves and steps,
IÕd do bad in the first quarter
and then I could do better for the rest of the game
The horrible mistakes,
the stupid steps and failures.
Then the next quarters would come,
coming too late before the ball came at me.
I was never the best player on the field
But I had knowledge and skill
and yet for some reason my body would not let me use them.
Seasons later it all came out I was
a bit better and I did not have to be nervous.
I practiced over and over

in my backyard some my own moves.
