Chase Horn--age 11--entered Johns Hopkins on a warm summer morning. As Chase and his parents entered the hospital, they got a cold chill down their spine, because of the temperature in the hospital. Chase was having a pectus excavatum surgery, for his chest, because he was born with an indent that can cause major damage. ChaseÕs chest would need to get fixed or he could die of organ failure because of the small space in his chest. Chase and his parents sat in the waiting room and waited for the nurse to bring Chase back to get ready for surgery.
