An idealistic, vegetarian virtuoso musician wins a music scholarship and dreams of being a conductor. But he joins the RAF to escape his domineering mother. Family, marriage and work quarrels impede his life but he eventually becomes a conductor in a pop video. A musical romp through two world wars with comic verses.
