Marion Hazen Lewis was born in Judsonia, Arkansas in 1933, but grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, at 8 years old, Hazen picked up an accordion for the first time. She soon learned to play the piano and organ. She also sang at public events across her hometown.
She went on to ear a bachelor's degree in music education and meet her husband, Roland Folse. She and Roland spent their newlywed years living in Maryland, where Hazen earned a master's degree in music and welcomed three children, Gwen, Jack, and Lynn.
In 1961, Hazen and Roland moved to Bellevue, Washington and welcomed one more child, Dick. A decade later, the Folses moved to Springfield, Illinois.
In her retirement, Hazen attended art classes and exhibited her pastel paintings. Now, she presents her life story.
