Stephen Allen, 1767-1852 grew up during the Revolutionary War in New York City, became a very, successful businessman and Mayor of New York from 1821 to 1824. He worked hard on the Croton Reservoir System to bring water to New York and served in the New York legislature. This is looking at history from a live, personal viewpoint.
