This is a story about growing up in rural America during the 1940Õs and fifties, a story of encouragement to pursue a lifelong dream to become a teacher. It continues as a story where personal tragedy interrupted life in 2001 but where faith allowed life to resume some sense of normalcy in the aftermath of a sonÕs suicide.
Prodded by my daughter, Melanie, to record events of my childhood that I shared with her occasionally, I slowly began to voice these memories into this written form in The MilkmanÕs Daughter. It is amazing what one can remember or forget in over 70 years of life!
