Created by a Nurse, for a nurse, the Nurse Reflection and Debriefing Journal is a tool that was created to help in debriefing and processing those traumatic things that we see as nurses. We see everything, people passing away while in our care, victims of car wrecks and horrible crimes, and those suffering from cancer and other diseases. While we experience these things, very rarely is the mental health of the medical staff at the front of anyone's thoughts.
With a background in mental health, we know that processing and debriefing these traumatic events is crucial in limiting the effects they may have on us. Each page is printed with prompts to lead you through the debrief that you need to help cope with what you have experienced. This is a structure that we've used in mental health facilities and correctional facilities with great success at limiting the negative impact of those horrible scenes we witness and participate in.
While your organization may not be concerned about your mental health, we certainly are. This can be used alone, or with your friends and co-workers to process these events, gain a better understanding, and to ease the stress and traumatic effects they may have on you.
