Lydia is heir to the throne of the small country of Auara. When Prince James of Rowan arrives in the middle of the night to warn her of the approaching invasion of their countries by King Samuel of Zedaro, she determines to do whatever it takes to protect her country.
When all other options fail, Princess Lydia and Prince James travel through Zedaro to meet with the king of Lapi–o. Lydia and James decide to try to gain Lapi–o's allegiance against King Samuel, but they encounter all sorts of trouble. Lydia isn't sure they will manage to secure Lapi–oÕs friendship, or that they will make it safely through Zedaro, especially since King Samuel is doing all he can to apprehend them. And even more worrisome: will she have the strength to love others, even if they hurt or betray her?
