Ben ShepherdÕs adventuresome nature takes his wife Jennie, and their first baby on a foray into Oregon during the late 1800Õs only to be discouraged by the hostilities of the range wars. In 1928, Ben and Jennie return to Oregon in search of prosperity. We come to know nine brothers and sisters reaching maturity, pursuing their destinies, always tied to the heart of their family, the Shepherd home.
