The hero Dengel becomes Chief of his tribe and takes up his duties in the mighty hillfort of Mam Tor. Many dangers await him Ð battles, old magic and a slightly difficult courtship. As he struggles to save his tribe from the cruel Trevor of Hornhelm, he is aided by the wisdom of his ancestors (delivered in person!) and finally by the very mountain of Mam Tor itself.
