Based on the NIV, these daily devotional ÔpsalmsÕ are a paraphrased version of the original work found in GodÕs word. In composing this work some of the original words used by the psalmist have been replaced with my own words. For example, when the psalmist refers to himself as a Òrighteous manÓ I refer to myself as a ÒsinnerÓ in need of grace. I feel this is how I can best relate to the psalms -- from the perspective of a habitual sinner that keeps falling short of GodÕs perfect standard.
If you have ever felt this way despite knowing that God loves you, if you find yourself in a constant battle between the good you would want to do and the evil you find yourself doing, if you have ever wanted to express your feelings of wanting to please Him but failing miserably in your quest to live righteously, then please read on. May these words comfort you in your journey towards accepting and understanding how His grace works. May you never forget Ð nothing can ever separate you from His love!
