Our life journeys are varied. Some ask of us more than we think we have to give. They can cause profound uneasiness, deeply tap our inner core, and shake our belief system, leaving us floundering and flapping like fish out of water...breathless. Gasping, we are asked to plunge back into the discordant waters (my motherÕs dementia and illness), and let go, release, die unto ourselves, in order to find the most obvious yet elusive element which is so needed to survive this journey...love.
After my mother died I looked over all her paintings and was overwhelmed at how perfectly some of them fit with what I had already written. I invite you to read this journal and see how her paintings and my writings illuminate each other. Our partnership continues.
