[HARDCOVER] Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church was established in 1837 as the fifth parish in the Archdiocese of Kingston in Ontario. Tyendinaga Township was settled predominantly by Irish Catholics from the late 1820s to 1850s. Many descendants of the original settlers still reside in the township, and there are many others who have spread across all of North America.
