I have lived my entire life in Eastern Kentucky and the home that I grew up in sits down a dead-end hollow in Greenup County. Most of the other houses belong to family and therefore so does most of the land. When my Uncle Wayne offered to let us build a cabin in his woods we quickly accepted and, having been debating on whether or not building a cabin was even possible for us, we took the opportunity as a sign that we should at least give it a try. In late spring of 2012 we started work on clearing the land where we would build, and I realized then that our progress would be worth documenting. When all was complete I decided to turn the records into a book for family, friends, and anyone else interested in sharing our story and journey.
What began as something that seemed too far out of reach turned into a reality that none of us could be more proud of. We learned many lessons along the way and found it is no lie that from a small seed a great thing can grow.
