Shelly Davidson is a normal 13 year old girl living a typical 13 year old's life in Dallas, Texas. That is until her father abandons her and her mother, forcing Shelly and her mother to go live with her mother's best friend in the nearby suburb of Richardson. Shelly has a best friend, but an unbelievable truth regarding a relative in her best friend's family changes not only their friendship, but Shelly's life forever. Once Shelly's mom begins to break, the truth about what seemed to be the perfect marriage is revealed in an unexpected manner.
