When Jett, a normal, every day college student, discovers a sword on the baseball field, he has no idea he has been chosen by the gods to defend the world from annihilation. Skuldr, a seemingly preteen Valkyrie, takes it upon herself to protect Jett from harm. Together they'll journey across Europe, battle golems and zombies, encounter the gods, and reluctantly recruit the assistance of the mermaid Dahut, once the Princess of the lost city of Ys. But will Fate allow Jett and Skuldr to complete their journey together, or will Jett have to finish his quest without the Valkyrie Guard?
