The Word Nerd is a collection of poems and stories about the words alive inside of the author, Shelley Van Scoyoc. The words in ShelleyÕs heart have helped express her feelings about her world since developing Multiple Sclerosis. Through these works Shelley shows the story and struggles of living life with Multiple Sclerosis, her love of family and friends, and the beauty and strength writing has brought her. Her words are honest, encouraging, and uplifting for anyone who has experienced disability or loves someone who has. Shelley has found unexpected joy in writing and giving her poetry. She wishes to share the experiences of her life with the public. Shelley lives in Inglis House Nursing Home in Philadelphia, PA and continues to express herself through poetry and live fully despite the need for care.
