The World as Text documents the exhibition and reading room designed for the Center for Book and Paper Arts under the direction of Chicago-based artist, designer and builder John Preus. Featuring nearly 100 contemporary artists' books, zines and exhibition catalogs, the reading room was conceptualized as a hybrid social space and fabricated entirely with reclaimed furniture. The full color catalog features an essay by artist and critic Dan Wang, project statement by John Preus, a complete index of books and works in the exhibition.
